Abnormal Order Handling Guide for Merchants

Written by Emy Huang

I. Abnormal Payment Handling

During the on-chain payment process, users may encounter the following types of abnormal payments due to the variety of blockchain networks and tokens:

  • Underpaid

  • Overpaid

  • Late Payment

  • Wrong Currency

  • Wrong Network

To reduce merchant support overhead and improve order completion rates, Infini provides both automated settlement and manual order reconciliation for abnormal payments. This article explains the handling rules for each type and the actions merchants should take.

What is a valid payment?

A payment is considered valid when all of the following conditions are met:

  • Payment is completed within the order's validity period

  • Payment is sent to the system-assigned receiving address

  • Payment uses the token specified in the order

  • Payment amount matches the order requirement

Payments that do not meet the above conditions will be flagged as abnormal payments.

Asset Type

Validity Period

Stablecoins (USDT, USDC, etc.)

60 minutes

Non-stablecoins (ETH, SOL, TRX, etc.)

30 minutes

II. Abnormal Payments Handled Automatically by the System

For orders with a bound receiving address, the system can automatically identify and process the following abnormal payment types. No action from the merchant is required.

Abnormal Type

Description

Outcome

Underpaid

The amount paid by the user is less than the order amount.

Funds are settled to the merchant. If the shortfall is within the merchant's configured underpayment tolerance, the order is automatically completed and a Webhook is triggered. Otherwise, the merchant may manually confirm completion or contact the user to pay the difference.

Overpaid

The amount paid by the user exceeds the order amount.

The full amount received is settled to the merchant. The platform does not provide automatic refunds.

Late Payment (within 24 hours)

Payment is made after the order expires, but within 24 hours.

The system automatically identifies the funds, and the order is automatically completed with a Webhook triggered.

Wrong Currency

The user pays with an incorrect token to the correct network and address.

The system automatically converts the received asset to USDT/USDC for settlement. If the converted amount meets the order requirement, the order is automatically completed.

III. Abnormal Payments Requiring Manual Processing

The following situations cannot be automatically matched to an order and require the merchant to submit a manual reconciliation request to Infini Support.

1. Wrong Network

Description: The user sends payment to the correct receiving address specified in the order, but uses an incorrect blockchain network.

Example:

  • Order requirement: USDT (Ethereum)

  • Actual payment: USDT (BNB Smart Chain)

2. Late Payment exceeding 24 hours

Description: The user completes payment more than 24 hours after the order has expired, or reuses a receiving address from a previous order.

Is fund recovery guaranteed?

No. Fund recovery is not guaranteed.

Paying after an order has expired is a non-standard payment behavior and carries the risk of unrecoverable funds.

As the final attribution of funds is subject to factors including on-chain arrival time, address assignment status, and order fulfillment status, Infini does not guarantee fund recovery for payments made more than 24 hours after order expiry.

To avoid fund loss, please remind users to complete payment within the order's validity period and not to save or reuse historical receiving addresses.

Important Notice

The checkout page clearly displays a payment countdown and reminds users not to continue paying after the order expires or to reuse historical receiving addresses.

Any risk arising from payments made more than 24 hours after order expiry is borne solely by the payer.

IV. How to Submit a Manual Reconciliation Request

Please provide the following information to Infini Support:

  • Merchant Order ID

  • Transaction Hash (TxID)

If further verification is required, Support may request a payment proof as supplementary material. Once verified, settlement and Webhook notification will be triggered as normal.

Payment proof requirements — must include:

  • Payment timestamp

  • Payment amount

  • Blockchain network used

  • Receiving address
