Creating and Using Parent and Sub-accounts

Written by Emy Huang

I. Overview

Parent and sub-accounts are a multi-account management feature available to Infini Business Accounts. A business can create multiple sub-accounts under its existing Business Account and use them to separately manage balances, transactions, members, and notifications by business line, project, team, or use of funds. Sub-accounts inherit the account tier, fees, and limits of the Parent Account.

This feature is available only to Business Accounts. After signing in, click the account switcher in the top-left corner of the Dashboard to view existing accounts. Once business verification is complete, you can select 【Create sub-account】 to add a sub-account.

Account separation: The Parent Account and each Sub-account are separate account spaces. Switching accounts does not sign you out, but balances, transaction records, members, cards, and in-app notifications are not combined.

II. Key Features

  • Separate business management: Create sub-accounts for different business lines, projects, or teams.

  • One login and easy switching: Access the Parent Account and authorized Sub-accounts with the same login identity.

  • Separate funds: Each account has its own balance and transaction records.

  • Internal transfers: Transfer funds between the Parent Account and its Sub-accounts.

  • Independent member permissions: Invite members and assign roles separately for each Sub-account.

  • Inherited fees and limits: Sub-accounts inherit the Parent Account's tier, fees, and limits, including later updates.

III. Eligibility and Sub-account Limit

  • Only Business Accounts can create Sub-accounts. Personal accounts are not supported.

  • The Business Account must complete KYC L2 or KYB verification before creating a Sub-account.

  • Each Parent Account can create up to 10 Sub-accounts.

  • After 10 Sub-accounts have been created, the 【Create sub-account】 option is no longer displayed.

  • A Sub-account cannot create another level of Sub-accounts, so the creation option is not displayed within a Sub-account.

Account structure: The current structure has two levels only: Parent Account → Sub-account. Nested Sub-accounts are not supported.

IV. Create a Sub-account

1. Open the account switcher

Click the account switcher in the top-left corner of the Dashboard to view the Parent Account and its Sub-accounts.

2. Select 【Create sub-account】

The option is displayed when the Business Account meets the eligibility requirements and has not reached the Sub-account limit.

3. Enter the Sub-account information

Enter a name for the Sub-account, then confirm creation and enter the new Sub-account.

V. Switch Accounts and Confirm the Active Account

Click the account switcher in the top-left corner of the Dashboard to switch between the Parent Account and its Sub-accounts. After switching, the Dashboard displays the balance, transactions, members, cards, and business data for the selected account.

  • Switching accounts does not sign you out.

  • You can only see accounts that you own or are authorized to access.

  • Before transferring funds, issuing cards, accepting payments, or managing members, confirm that the correct account is shown in the top-left corner.

VI. Funds and Account Transfers

1. Separate balances and transaction records

The Parent Account and each Sub-account maintain separate balances and transaction records. Payments received, transfers, card spending, and other balance changes in a Sub-account are recorded only in that Sub-account and do not directly change the available balance of another account.

2. Transfers between the Parent Account and Sub-accounts

You can transfer funds between the Parent Account and its Sub-accounts within the same business. Select the sending account, receiving account, currency, and amount. After the transfer is completed, the sending account balance decreases and the receiving account balance increases.

3. Transfers to other Business Accounts

A Sub-account can also transfer funds to another Business Account using the transfer methods available on the page. The amount is deducted from the active Sub-account and recorded in that Sub-account's transaction history.

VII. Member Permissions

Each Sub-account can invite members and assign roles independently. Members can access only the accounts and features they are authorized to use. Access to a Sub-account does not automatically provide access to the Parent Account or other Sub-accounts.

Invitation restriction: A user who is already registered and owns another Business Account cannot be invited to a Sub-account. Use a different email address as instructed on the page, or contact Infini Support to confirm account ownership.

VIII. Fees, Limits, and Account Benefits

Sub-accounts inherit the account tier, transaction fees, and transaction limits currently applicable to the Parent Account. No separate configuration is required.

  • When a Sub-account is created, the Parent Account's current fees and limits are applied automatically.

  • When the Parent Account's tier or fees change, the updated settings are applied to its Sub-accounts.

  • The 【My Tier】 and 【Referral Program】 entries are not displayed separately in a Sub-account. Related benefits are determined by the Parent Account.

Please note: Refer to the Parent Account for the currently applicable fees and limits. Rules may vary by product, currency, or payment rail.

IX. Supported Services and Data Separation

A Sub-account can use Infini Business products that have been activated and authorized for the account, including payment acceptance, corporate cards, and business transfers. Product eligibility, verification requirements, and regional restrictions still apply.

  • Payment orders and transaction data belong to the account that initiated the business activity.

  • Corporate cards, cardholders, and card transactions are displayed separately for the active account.

  • In-app messages and business notifications are separated by account and displayed in the relevant account space.

  • Business data is not automatically combined across the Parent Account and different Sub-accounts.

X. Recommended Practices

  • Create Sub-accounts for real business needs, such as separate business lines, projects, or teams.

  • Fund a new Sub-account from the Parent Account before starting business activity.

  • Follow the principle of least privilege when inviting members and grant only the access required for their work.

  • Confirm the active account before transferring funds, issuing cards, accepting payments, or viewing reports.

  • After the Parent Account's tier, fees, or limits change, verify the settings shown in each Sub-account.
